I was walking around Salmiyah, Kuwait one time and saw a small white pickup truck coming towards me in the traffic with a couple of ‘Human Bungee Cords’ standing in the bed of the truck.

I was amazed at what I saw because the pickup truck was actually traveling rather quickly keeping up with the other traffic.  Two hotel workers were perched in the back of the truck holding the chairs that had been loaded into it. Most people who move furniture like this would tie it in with rope, a strap, or use use bungee cords.  Well, because the immigrant labor force is paid cheaply here, I guess its ok if you lose an employee every now and then.  All I could think of was what would happen if the chairs shifted, or the truck had to stop short because of the cars in front of it?  I also thought too, God forbid they lose a chair….  You never know what you’ll see out there in the world!

About VacationWanderer

I have 'wandered' pretty much around the world but still have a lot to see and experience. My favorite things to do in life are travel, photography, and learning new languages or foreign language phrases to use along the way. "Hello", "Thank You", and "Please" in any language will open many doors for you. :-) I love to share my travel experiences with people and hope to inspire those who are still just thinking about it.
