“HUMP DAY” Photograph of the Week

This weeks “HUMP DAY” photograph of the week was taken while ‘wandering’ around the city of Thessaloniki (Θεσσαλονίκη).  Nighttime is my favorite time of any day because of the colors and activity you don’t see during the hours of light.  Daytime for me is more impersonal because everyone has somewhere to go or somewhere they have to be.  It’s more of a hustle and bustle timeframe.

At night, people are more relaxed and couples are strolling along holdings hands or wrapped tightly together with arm embraces and are actually enjoying each others company.  People may be eating their dinner on a sidewalk at a café somewhere enjoying the night air and the friends they are with,  while the dining establishments take care to decorate their areas to attract customers.

I was walking down this walkway between a few of restaurants in the harbor area, I turned around, and just loved what I saw.  Lighting like this outside is just so beautiful to me.  It’s warm, attractive, and kind of secretive. It’s just enough light, but not too much light. If there is natural greenery accenting the scene; all the better.  This type of place just draws me in and I want to pull up a chair, sit, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while basking in the comfort I feel from it. This is the type of place you can relax, have a quiet conversation, and people watch too. It’s so much better than TV for me and can sometimes be so comical.  People are more relaxed during the night and sometimes do the strangest things.  :-)

I hope you enjoy this weeks “HUMP DAY” photograph as much as I do.  Hopefully there is a place nearby just like this that you can enjoy too.  :-)

Have a great day!  Friday is almost here!

About VacationWanderer

I have 'wandered' pretty much around the world but still have a lot to see and experience. My favorite things to do in life are travel, photography, and learning new languages or foreign language phrases to use along the way. "Hello", "Thank You", and "Please" in any language will open many doors for you. :-) I love to share my travel experiences with people and hope to inspire those who are still just thinking about it.
