While “wandering” Thailand, there are many opportunities to photograph something unusual or unique that pops up and catches your eye.  One of the many things that I love about Thailand are the beautiful flowers that flourish in this tropical country.

Orchids are some of the most beautiful flowers that nature provides for us to enjoy.  Thailand is lucky because they have an ideal climate for these beautiful, fragile flowers to flourish and grow just about anywhere.

During a trip to the Chiang Mai Zoo in Chiang Mai, Thailand I came upon this huge cluster of orchids that were so breathtaking.  Their colors were regal and vivid in comparison to the other vegetation in the area. Their beauty compelled me to capture a photograph of them and preserve that memory for myself.

Orchids are used in many ways in Thailand because there is an abundance of them.  If you’re ever in Bangkok, take a trip to the flower market area and you’ll be dazzled by the colors and types of flowers that are offered for sale in bulk.  Orchids are an exotic flower in western countries and usually pretty expensive. In Thailand these beautiful flowers are used to garnish meals, drinks, or even your freshly made hotel bed.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks “HUMP DAY” PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK!  I also hope you get a chance to visit Thailand f you haven’t already because it is truly an amazing place to see.  Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog post! :-)

Please feel free to leave a comment.  I would love to ‘hear’ what you think. :-)

About VacationWanderer

I have 'wandered' pretty much around the world but still have a lot to see and experience. My favorite things to do in life are travel, photography, and learning new languages or foreign language phrases to use along the way. "Hello", "Thank You", and "Please" in any language will open many doors for you. :-) I love to share my travel experiences with people and hope to inspire those who are still just thinking about it.
